Preface:

This is the third edition of CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60335-2-56, Household and similar electrical appliances — Safety — Part 2-56: Particular requirements for projectors and similar appliances, which is an adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 60335-2-56 (edition 3:2002 consolidated with Amendment 1:2008 and Amendment 2:2014). It supersedes the previous edition published in 2001 as CAN/CSA-E60335-2-56 (adopted IEC 60335-2-56:1997), and it replaces CSA C22.2 No. 118-1959, Construction and test of picture machines and appliances. It is one in a series of Standards issued by CSA Group under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code.

This Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60335-1:11, Safety of household and similar appliances — Part 1: General requirements (adopted IEC 60335-1:2001+A1:2004 +A2:2006, with Canadian deviations).

This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.
